Code of Conduct: As a participant, I agree to act respectfully and promote a culture of respect and concern for others while participating in water polo here at Forest Grove pool and while representing Forest Grove at other locations. Players: As a player, I will practice good team building skills to the best of my knowledge. When in doubt, I will ask my coach. I will not fight, provoke to fight or intentionally injur teamates, opponents or others. I will use the pool time wisely, making the most of this opportunity to develop my water polo knowledge and skills, and performing those skills to the best of my ability. I will act respectfully by avoiding inappropriate or provokative language or gestures. I will speak of others in a positive manner, and encourage them to do what is best. Assistants: As a program assistant, I will set a positive example for the players. Additionally, I will be proactive in creating a positive culture for the athletes. I will bring inappropriate behavior to the attention of the coach. Coaches: As a coach, I will put the interests of the players above my own. I will best represent the players, parents and community by setting a good example also. I will be alert, appropriately dressed and self-controlled while on the deck, refraining from yelling as a means to express personal frustration over the performance of other participants. Team Safety Policies: As a team, we intend to conduct ourselves wisely and in a manner beyond reproach. To ensure a safe environment for children and adult participants, the following policies are to be practiced: 1. During club activities, groupings of no less than 3 people. 2. No convicted sex offender may participate as a player or helper. 3. Except for deck team pictures, photographs of athletes will only be taken from the shoulders up. 4. Parents who prefer that their children be excluded from team or individual photographs must notify the team in advance.
"I (type your name here) agree to follow these guidelines in order to build a positive and safe team experience. I also understand that my failure to practice these policies may result in appropriate disciplinary action, possibly disqualifying me from participating in practices, games or even team membership."
